STRAWBERRIES TO READ STENDHAL BY

Le rouge et le noir
There's a running debate about why Stendhal chose the colors red and black for the title of his 19th century French classic. To symbolize the career choice between the military (red) and the clergy (black)? Or was it simply because they were the colors of the notebooks in which he wrote the novel, Le Rouge et Le Noir (1830)? To say the least, they are stimulating and commanding colors, which is reason enough.
